Family Insights is a form of therapy that has the potential to address various issues and past trauma. This can include depression, anxiety, anger, sadness, fear of the future, regrets of the past. Whatever struggles you're experiencing, the way you respond to them could be linked to your ancestors.

How We Do the Work

ONE-ON-ONE

This can be in person or on Zoom, which is surprisingly effective! What I require is you having an idea what you want to work on. Also having several pieces of paper with different family members names on each paper. (ex: mom, dad, name of siblings, countries, other people, religion, etc)

GROUPS

Within a constellation group process, three levels of participation are offered.

Specifically in a group we have different aspects of the process, using other group members to be representatives and supporters. One group member will be a REPRESENTATIVE of a family member or a part of the issue that is important to the client.

The other group members are SUPPORTERS, a beneficial presence to the process for all involved.

The session can take place comfortably inside your house using Zoom, .

We start by looking at BELONGING, which narrows how you fit into your family of origin. This in turn informs how we learn to fit into other groups as we mature in life: friends, co-workers, social circles, etc.

The next piece is ORDER. It's interesting to look at how our families often become entangled in patterns that lead to out-of-order generations. Through this step we'll determine who fits into what generation, and how one generation informs the next.

Finally, we'll look at BALANCE. Which branch of your family tree bears the most weight? Who has the most authority, who is most reliable, who is most giving, and how have all of these roles affected the person you are today?

The CLIENT is one who is curious about this process, and brings a situation or stressor to the facilitator.

The REPRESENTATIVE is one who stands as a spokesperson, or antenna for a family as a whole.

The SUPPORTER is one who acts as a beneficial presence in service to the process for all involved.

Naples Family Insights uses the foundational philosophies of Family Constellations, which was the brilliant creation of the German psychotherapist, Bert Hellinger (December 1925 – September 2019).

Hellinger studied a variety of methods and psychotherapist until he came to develop this unique approach to client’s problems and issues. There are several components which are incorporated into each session considering the phenomenology or analyzing the words that the client has spoken. It also includes explorations in movement patterns of the client, and using a representative to portray the dominant issue.

The process is designed to tease out hidden or forgotten traumas and personal traits within the family of origin. These traumas often emerge as difficulties or repeated issues within the client’s daily life.

The physiology of traumas, (on a cellular level) suggest that traumas are genetically passed down, from one generation to another. Like a well-worn suitcase, crammed with hopes, secrets and fragmented memories of events. These traumatic origins may be a result of early deaths, illnesses, wars, poverty, missing family members, old lovers, ill-gained goods, etc. How it is passed down through the genes is called epigenetic.

An important subset of the work is using “The Field”. Representatives are in service to the family and ancestors. They have a position of stepping into the constellation for a problem or family member, intuitively, conveying the feelings and perceptives of the person or issue. This was described as a “field of wisdom” (per Albrecht Mahr) or the “in-forming field” by Bertold Ulsamer.

I grew up in the California sunshine, studied Occupational Therapy from the University of Puget Sound in Washington State, and obtained a Master’s Degree from Eastern KY University with emphasis on pediatrics and life coaching. I did live in Florida for 8 years, but now with grown children in Kentucky and the Philippines I have returned in the Bluegrass state.

I have always been interested in esoteric subjects, including, but not limited to Hellinger Family Constellations, Astrology, Shadowwork, and Matrix works. I have been involved for many years with Womanwithin Kentuckiana, (a woman’s support group) and an active member to the Unity Church. I enjoy painting, tennis, adventures, classes and staring at the stars!
